Service Day 2025: Building Accessibility and Giving Back

At SR Max®, we’re built for the jobsite—but our work doesn’t end there. Safety doesn’t clock out at 5 PM. It's a mindset, and it stretches far beyond the walls of any workplace. That’s why this spring, we teamed up with Community Housing Solutions (CHS) and showed up in full force—we brought our hands, our safety shoes, and the support of our customers.
Who is CHS?
Community Housing Solutions is a nonprofit right in our backyard—Guilford County, NC. Their mission is all about keeping people in their homes and making those homes safer, warmer, and more accessible. That means everything from repairing roofs and electrical systems to building ramps for folks with mobility needs. Since their beginning, CHS has repaired over 1,800 homes. They don’t just fix homes—they restore peace of mind. We stand with CHS because their mission aligns with ours: protect people where they live and work.
Service Days: Sweat Equity Matters
For two full days, our team swapped desks for drills. We didn’t show up for photo ops—we showed up to work.
Our crew helped build an accessibility ramp and deck for a local resident who needed a safer way to get in and out of their home. And when the job wrapped up, what we left behind wasn’t just a ramp—it was freedom. It was dignity. It was someone feeling safe again. Yeah, we were sore. We were sweaty. We were covered in sawdust. And we’d do it again tomorrow.
Customers Who Step Up
We’re proud of our team, but we’re just as proud of our customers. On April 9th, we pledged a portion of every online shoe sale at SRMax.com and SafGard.com to CHS. And thanks to your support, we delivered—$32,101.39 worth of support, to be exact.
That number means real change. Real homes repaired. Real lives improved.
Why It Matters
At SR Max®, we’re known for protecting workers on the job. But what happens after clock-out still counts. If your home isn’t safe, your workday doesn’t really end—it just shifts into a different kind of stress. We believe safety is a full-time job. That’s why we show up—at work and in our communities. Because when those within our communities are stronger, we’re all stronger.
What’s Next?
We’re not stopping here. This is just one example of what happens when purpose meets action. If you want to see more of how we’re giving back, head over to our Impact Page.
