Our Patented
Slip-Resistant Outsole

A New Standard In Slip Resistance

Subpar slip resistance puts employees at risk. That’s why we created MaxTRAX®, our patented slip-resistant outsole technology that excels on dry, wet and oily/wet surfaces. It aces ASTM F3445-24 SRO / ASTM F2913-24 SRO slip-resistant certification requirements. Why? Because we put every style through serious independent testing so your team can stay safe, steady, and focused … no matter how hectic the shift gets.

How It Works

The MaxTRAX Impact

2008

We founded SR Max® after seeing lots of subpar "slip-resistant" options on the market. Employees deserved better, so we made it happen.

2009

Setting a new standard in employee safety became our #1 goal, so we began developing our own slip-resistant outsole called MaxTRAX®.

2013

We received a US patent for MaxTRAX®.

Reebok Work became our first brand partner. Tons of other brands followed suit.

2025

Over a million pairs of MaxTRAX® products are sold each year, and you can find it on your favorite brands, like Timberland PRO®, SKECHERS Work, Wolverine® and more.

MaxTRAX FAQ

  • The best way to determine when it’s time to replace your shoes is to periodically check your shoe tread. If you see a worn area the size of the end of a AA battery (or bigger), then it’s time for a new pair.

  • Here’s how it’s done in 3 easy steps. 1) Soak the outsole in ¼ inch of water (no deeper). 2) Hold your shoe at a 90° angle and scrub with a stiff nylon brush (no steel bristles). Using warm, soapy water and your brush, follow the tread pattern. 3) Rinse and, if necessary, repeat.
