THE ORIGIN
Our Story Begins
Even though we’ve been making waves in the slip-resistant arena for more than 15 years, our safety footwear expertise goes back more than 40. Husband and wife team Bob and Ann Kubis founded our parent company, Saf-Gard® Safety Shoe Company in 1980, and after many acquisitions and tremendous growth, the owners saw a huge gap in the safety footwear industry: slip-resistant shoe programs.
THE LAUNCH
SR Max® Comes On the Scene
Safety managers in the restaurant, healthcare, warehousing and transportation industries were looking for a real slip-resistant shoe partner. They needed an ally who could offer easy-to-use, customizable corporate shoe programs. So, in 2007 we leveraged our experience in the safety shoe business to fill that gap with SR Max®.
By maintaining employee safety, simplicity and service as our top priorities, we continually see injury rates drop, which ultimately helps reduce workers’ comp claims and keeps team members feeling safer and happier on the job.
THE TECHNOLOGY
Introducing Our Patented MaxTRAX® Slip-Resistant Outsole
After seeing an insane number of subpar “slip-resistant” shoes on the market, we decided enough was enough. In 2008 we designed and patented our own slip-resistant outsole (that’s the tread on the bottom of your shoes). We call it MaxTRAX®, and it performs phenomenally in dry, wet, oily and oily/wet environments. In fact, it not only excels in independent testing, but our favorite brands love it too, like Timberland PRO®, Wolverine®, SKECHERS Work, Reebok Work and more.
