The work we do is never about quick sales. It’s about the people with their boots on the ground. So you better believe that SR Max® always supports the trades. That’s what our partnership with our parent company, Saf-Gard, and She Built This City is geared up to accomplish.

She Built This City is an amazing nonprofit committed to helping youth, women and marginalized communities discover lucrative trades careers. Not only do they keep busy with their educational, training and mentorship programs, but they also jumped at the chance to support us at our 2023 Service Day. Together we worked with middle schoolers to build and donate more than 20 picnic tables to local organizations.

Needless to say, when we found an opportunity to give back and further support their mission this Giving Tuesday, we took it. Leading up to the globally recognized day, we shouted from the rooftops about how our customers could get involved. And they showed up big time. We simply asked them to make their online safety shoe purchases on Tuesday, November 28, and then a % of those sales would go to She Built This City. Customers could feel good knowing that their purchases paid it forward.

With the help of our customers, we donated $20,768.26 to She Built This City.

December 5, 2023 was a huge day for us and She Built This City as members of each organization and community leaders rallied at The Forge, Greensboro’s favorite community makerspace. During the event Saf-Gard’s Chief Marketing Officer, Ashley Dillon, spoke to the crowd about the company’s ongoing commitment to the trades and presented a check for $20,768.26 to Latoya Faustin, Executive Director of She Built This City.

“It's heartening,” Faustin said, “to see such a respected company in the safety footwear industry extend its support to our cause, helping us break down barriers and open new pathways in skilled trades careers. We are immensely grateful for this generous donation from Saf-Gard and SR Max.”

We can’t begin to express how good it feels to give back to an organization that not only spreads the word about the value of trades careers, but also creates pathways for marginalized people to enter those careers. We appreciate our customers, and we’re excited to see how She Built This City continues to transform our communities and the lives of the people in them. As Faustin put it, “Together, we're building a more diverse and skilled future.”
